It is interesting to note that on any single day, nearly 25,000 people search Google to learn more about motivation and what exactly motivation is.
In essence motivation is the driving force by which humans achieve their goals. It is the process that initiates, guides and maintains goal-oriented behaviors. It’s the stuff that get’s you moving to do things to get what you want.
Here’s a quick question for you: What motivates you? Just think about it for a second…
However, motivation by itself is not enough – we need to act upon the things that motivate us to create a reality we are comfortable with.
Jim Rohn had some interesting observations about motivation which we need to take note of. The first one is that motivation alone is not enough. “If you have an idiot and you motivate him, now you have a motivated idiot.”
His other observation was that motivation needs to come from within – do not wait for someone else to get you motivated. The best motivating is self-motivating. The guy says, “I wish someone would come by and turn me on.” What if they don’t show up? You’ve got to have a better plan for your life.”
So let’s understand the following about motivation: When you know what you want, and you want it badly enough, you’ll find a way to get it. You’ll find the motivation and take the steps to do what’s necessary to achieve your goals.
Clarity is the foundation to get what you want. In this section thoughts about motivation and achieving your goals will be dealt with.
